Red Walker
The official description says Red Walker, a private investigator, is sent to Silver Pines to find Eddie Velvet, a musician who has vanished.
Eddie Velvet
Eddie Velvet is the missing musician the investigation is about. The motel register holds his guest number, which the gate code uses. That number changes between playthroughs, so the code is covered on the puzzles page.
Named figures on the route
- The woman in Room 3. She gives the motel gift shop locker code, but only if you speak with her and agree to have a drink with her. See the demo shotgun code page.
- Mr Jackman. He answers the payphone you call to save the game. The walkthrough sources give his number as 77221.
- Mr Holloway. The sources say he keeps the motel’s check-in key.
- Deputy Roberts. He is an enemy you fight as a boss at the Riverside police station. See the walkthrough.
- Alice. She appears late in the game. The sources say her body is found underwater and that you can take her ring. One source describes a recording of an exchange between Eddie and Alice that you can play in a scene.
Story roles
The sources say the investigation uncovers the town’s dark past and pulls Red Walker into a nightmare. The town is described as half-abandoned, with suspicious townsfolk, according to the publisher.
Animation
The publisher’s account in the sources says the character animation is rotoscoped. That means the animators filmed performers and traced each frame, to get realistic cloth and hair.
